Pre-orders for Mortal Online are scheduled to begin today. Though, the Mortal Online store, at least of this writing, is still not up.
In the meantime, the developers have updated the website with detailed information regarding the pre-order program, the beta, and the game’s estimated system requirements.
To start, Mortal Online will only be accepting pre-orders for 10,000 copies of the game at present. Some other restrictions apply, such as the fact you may only purchase one copy per account, though you are able to register multiple accounts. They do warn that if you use the same credit card to make the same payment five times within a week, that your credit card issuer may ban the card for two weeks as a Fraud precaution.
Also, take care when making your order, as the version you select during checkout will be reserved for you for several hours. This means you cannot change your order version once you’ve selected it (for a few hours), this has been implemented so that if something goes wrong during the order process you don’t have to start over and lose your chance at reserving a copy of the game.
The monthly fee for Mortal Online will set you back €14.25 if you’re in Europe, or $14.25 in the US. Beta will be split into five blocks consisting of 2,000 players each (for a total of 10,000) and the schedule is as follows:
July 20 Block A (including 999 Limited Editions)
August 3 Block B
August 17 Block C
August 31 Block D
September 14 Block E
The digital distribution of Mortal Online will not go on sale until a week after the retail launch of the game, though customers who purchase the retail version will be able to download and play the beta. They still do not have a specific release date for Mortal Online, but they do expect the game to be rated Mature at this point.

10 years running and the 16thexpansion is released. Wow! I still think back to when I first discovered the glory of MMO’s through EQ and the intensity and focus it instilled in gamers such as myself. Every so often I find myself wandering back to EQ to rediscover that glory, and with the release of the Underfoot expansion I just may have to drop back in and celebrate the holidays in Norrath.

New Content:
New areas for adventurers to explore including Brell’s Rest, Pellucid Grotto, The Underquarry, Brell’s Arena, The Foundation, The Cooling Chamber, Arthicrex, Lichen Creep, Kernagir the Shining City, Fungal Forest, Volska’s Husk, and Brell’s Temple. Players can travel into Underfoot solo, with a group, or in raids to complete new quests, tasks, and events to acquire new items, spells, tradeskill recipes, and abilities.
New Achievement System:
Users can display and manage their progress through the world of Norrath. The achievement system allows players to track various categories of their advancement such as levels, Alternate Advancements, quest completions, and other progression tracking events. At the launch of Underfoot, players can track their General, Tradeskill and Underfoot progression Achievements.
Extended Target Window:
Players can now track friends and foes with greater accuracy. The target window now lets players assign people or group roles to specific locations on the window for easy re-targeting. Users can track main tank, raid tanks, main target, main assist, puller, etc., or just put a specific player or NPC in the window.
Master Tradeskilling:
Tradeskillers can create powerful new weapons, armor, food and drink items, poisons and more.
